Creation of a school press journal of Mastic, updated on an on going basis with a wealth of useful information from a variety of sources, namely, historical and social references on life in the farms throughout the years, photos from the special and painstaking harvest procedure to the laborious cleaning task until it reaches the factory, old and new recipes, crossword puzzles etc.

Cultural Festival of Schools

  • The festival focuses on the cultural aspect of the Greek filmography and theme music and students perform various parts of well known films and plays.
  • The school chose to present a graceful waltz, with students dancing to the background music of the film about mastic, under the title “The Tree we hurt”, referring to the island and the precious mastic drops, reminding of tears..

  • Younger students watch a theatrical play at school named ‘Never, ever eat what you are told”, adopted from the same book written on good and bad eating habits.
  • Following the performance, a visit by the author of the book takes place as this is a great opportunity to ask questions and get answers..

University Department of Health and Dietary Counseling

  • Dissemination seminar to both teachers and students involved in the project, on healthy eating habits and the importance of natural products in our daily diet, focusing on the valuable properties of mastic. (14-3-2017)
